Your daily guide to both sides of the Falls
Today's Weather 🌬️
NY side: expect a high around 43°F with partly cloudy skies — classic raw late-March in the gorge. Winds are breezy, with gusts possible up to the low 30s mph, so it'll feel colder than it reads. Ontario side: similar story — roughly 6°C, overcast, and that wind off the river has teeth. Bundle up with a warm mid-layer, a wind-resistant outer shell, and gloves you actually mean it about.
Eat Today 🍽️
Niagara Parks Power Station Dining isn't on the menu tonight — but Table Rock House Restaurant is. Perched right at the brink of Horseshoe Falls with floor-to-ceiling windows, it's the perfect antidote to a blustery Monday — all the drama of the Falls, none of the windchill. The locally sourced menu leans seasonal, and watching the mist swirl outside while you're warm inside with a hot meal? That's the move. Lunch reservations recommended, especially on weekdays when tables are actually available.
Do Today 🏛️
Go underground at the Niagara Parks Power Station & Tunnel. This restored 1905 hydroelectric plant is one of the best rainy-or-cold-day attractions on either side of the border — a 180-foot glass elevator takes you down to a tunnel running beneath the riverbank, and the industrial history is genuinely fascinating. Adults $33 CAD. It's indoors, it's warm, and almost nobody at your hotel knows it exists — which makes it even better. Check ahead for hours as spring schedules may vary.
Stay Tonight 🏨
The Giacomo — Niagara Falls, NY's best boutique hotel. This beautifully restored Art Deco gem is the standout choice on the US side, with the 19th-floor Skye View Room offering sweeping river views that rival anything on the Canadian side. Perfect for couples or design-savvy travelers who want character over cookie-cutter. Insider tip: ask about upper-floor rooms — the views of the gorge at dusk are something else.
Quick Tip 💡
Monday mornings are the quietest time of the week at the Rainbow Bridge crossing — if you're planning to hop between the US and Canadian sides today, aim to cross before 10am and you'll likely waltz right through.
