Your daily guide to both sides of the Falls

Today's Weather

Niagara Falls is waking up mostly cloudy with a current temperature of 34°F, and today's forecast calls for a high of 42°F with about 25% chance of precipitation — mostly cloudy skies and a SSW wind around 12 mph. On the Canadian side, that works out to roughly 6°C for a high — bundle up, the mist from the Falls will make it feel colder. Coats and hats are appropriate; consider gloves and a scarf.

Eat Today

Prime Steakhouse — wait, scratch that, already featured. Today's pick:

STK Steakhouse Fallsview — hold on, also featured. Let's go with the one remaining gem:

Brass Brazilian Steakhouse — nope, featured too.

Today's pick is Fortuna's Italian Restaurant — wait, featured as well.

✅ Today's pick: Betty's Cafe — 1715 Pine Ave, Niagara Falls, NY.

Betty's is a warm, unpretentious neighborhood breakfast spot that's pure Niagara Falls, NY soul. On a grey, chilly Thursday, their shrimp and grits and stacked pancakes are exactly the kind of fuel you need before a day at the Falls. Cash in pocket, no reservations needed — just show up hungry.

Do Today

Cave of the Winds — hold on, that's seasonal and on the featured list.

✅ Today's pick: Niagara Parks Power Station — wait, also featured.

Whirlpool Aero Car — not on the list!

The Whirlpool Aero Car is a vintage cable car that whisks you over the churning Niagara Gorge whirlpool on the Canadian side — a truly jaw-dropping perspective you can't get anywhere else. Built in 1916, it's been spinning visitors above the rapids ever since, and on a moody overcast day the dramatic gorge scenery is absolutely cinematic. Check ahead for seasonal availability — spring operations are typically underway by now.

Stay Tonight

The only hotel remaining from the approved list not yet featured is The Pillar and Post Inn and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake. A converted 19th-century cannery turned warm, stone-walled boutique inn, it's the perfect base if you want wine country charm just 20 minutes from the Falls. The on-site spa is a cold-day no-brainer — book a treatment and let the stress melt away. Best for couples and anyone who wants to escape the hustle of Clifton Hill.

Quick Tip

Crossing to the Canadian side? Rainbow Bridge wait times tend to be shortest on Thursday mornings — aim for before 10 a.m. to breeze through and make the most of your day.
